It should be offered with a 2.0 turbo. Because racevolt.

I totally agree. I wish it wasnt so crazy expensive, but I think its a very sharp looking car.

I'd love to have one but even if I could swing the loan I do not think it would enjoy its life down a dirt road in rural Maine.

I really do love the Volt. Under different circumstances, this would have been my first new car purchase instead of my Mazda3. It would have absolutely fucking perfect for my commute. I could probably go months between fillups.

It looks fine.
Frankly, it looks like what Cruze SHOULD look like.
It shouldn't require an 80K car being government subsidized to a ~40K price tag, with another 7-10K tax credit for the buyer to sell someone a car with hundreds of pounds of batteries on board.
Maybe if it were a milder hybrid system... with a healthier power plant, and a lot less battery mass, and burned LNG... it might be attractive, mechanically.
electric only mode for moving the car a short distance, otherwise in power-generation mode (engine generating electricity for the traction motors) most of the time... and kinetically engaged mode (engine driving the wheels directly through a direct drive or overdrive single gear ratio) at sustained high speed.
Batteries are the problem with electrically propelled cars, not the part about having electric motors.

I agree, think it looks great. This is my favorite picture of it though:
